Sem reintegracionismo conseqüente, nom há regeneraçom cabal do galego: a propósito de três escorregadelas zoonímicas registadas na «lingua de calidade» de A Chave

1. Introduçom
A Chave é um projeto concaebido e impulsionado por Silverio Cerradelo Gómez, com formaçom universitária nos campos da Filologia Galega, da Terminologia e da Veterinária, que, através de recursos terminológicos e documentais disponibilizados na internet, no sítio ‹www.achave.gal›, tem por fito promover os usos do galego em diversos ámbitos de especialidade, propondo explicitamente como divisa «Galego, Lingua de Calidade». Com esse louvável objetivo, o sítio internético de A Chave nesta altura já oferece cerca de vinte folhetos em formato pdf que incluem propostas terminológicas em galego para diversos grupos de animais, fungos e vegetais.
Em princípio, no projeto A Chave, embora se utilizem as normas ortográficas e morfológicas da RAG=ILG1, há sincera vontade regeneradora do galego, o que leva, em considerável medida, a umha coordenaçom lexical com o luso-brasileiro, ao seguimento de algumhas recomendaçons terminológicas do Manual de Galego Científico de Garrido e Riera (2011), citado nos folhetos do projeto em foco, e, portanto, a algumhas colisons com a versom mais recente do dicionário da RAG=ILG ou com usos vocabulares isolacionistas predominantes em utentes da língua orientados exclusivamente polo oficialismo. Nesta linha, tomando como referência o folheto Os Nomes Galegos dos Réptiles do Projeto A Chave (62020), podemos verificar, por exemplo: a) emprego coerente do sufixo nomenclatural -ídeo(s) para formar nomes paracientíficos galegos de famílias de animais (ex.: Colubrídeos, Elapídeos)2, em colisom com o uso no dicionário da RAG=ILG do castelhanizante -´ido(s) (ex., córvidos em drag: s.v. “corvo”); b) emprego coerente do sufixo nomenclatural -íneo(s) para formar nomes paracientíficos galegos de subfamílias de animais (ex.: Crotalíneos, Viperíneos); c) uso —embora muito restrito— do adjetivo preto ‘negro’ (pág. 10), ausente da versom mais recente do drag; d) emprego quase constante de lagartixa, castelhanismo basilar ou constitutivo do galego-português (Garrido, 2011: 293–294; 2022: 236), usual em galego e presente nos padrons lusitano e brasileiro, em detrimento do isolacionista lagarta, como o oficialismo prefere (pág. 9).
Ora bem, o compromisso regenerador do galego que anima os responsáveis polo projeto A Chave nom é forte o suficiente, ou suficientemente coerente, para dissolver completamente as ataduras e serventias lexicais com o oficialismo isolacionista e, por isso, apesar do declarado no parágrafo anterior, por exemplo, o folheto em foco apenas utiliza preto ‘negro’ em naxa (cuspideira) preta (Naja nigricollis) (pág. 10, 34), por se tratar, segundo os autores explicam, de espécie que vive em Angola, país (de expressom galego-portuguesa) em que se usa na correspondente denominaçom vernácula tal vocábulo; além disso, o folheto de A Chave utiliza, afinal de contas, *lagarta ‘lagartixa’ para a espécie Zootoca vivipara (*lagarta das brañas), em vez de lagartixa (lagartixa-vivípara).
Por outro lado, e de forma bem mais relevante do que tais ataduras com o oficialismo isolacionista, algumhas soluçons vocabulares utilizadas no folheto de A Chave revelam como a falta de umha praxe reintegracionista conseqüente e, portanto, de um conhecimento profundo, vivencial, das variedades socialmente estabilizadas do galego-português, o lusitano e o brasileiro, origina em galego usos vocabulares aberrantes ou castelhanizantes, que acusam um forte défice de idiomaticidade e de funcionalidade. É objetivo do presente trabalho pôr a nu três desses importantes lapsos detetados no folheto de A Chave consagrado aos répteis, como um alegado em favor de umha atitude cabalmente regeneradora do léxico galego, a qual, indispensavelmente, deve incluir um íntimo conhecimento do léxico luso-brasileiro e a intervençom corretora das interferências castelhanizantes que tal conhecimento permite descobrir nos usos atuais do galego.
2. Três importantes lapsos zoonímicos presentes no folheto de A Chave
A seguir, prestamos atençom a três usos vocabulares presentes em Os Nomes Galegos dos Réptiles (A Chave, 62020) que, atentatórios contra a idiomaticidade e a funcionalidade do galego, som determinados em larga medida pola influência do castelhano, eventualmente amplificada pola codificaçom isolacionista do galego: distribuiçom castelhanizante de cobra e serpente (secçom 2.1), uso aberrante e disfuncional de cobra, desconsideraçom de cobra-capelo e abuso de naja (secçom 2.2), e indevido uso de cobregón em detrimento de cobra-rateira (secçom 2.3).
2.1. Distribuiçom castelhanizante de cobra e serpente
Nas variedades lusitana e brasileira do galego-português, os vocábulos cobra e serpente som sinónimos e designam os répteis ofídios, sendo cobra de uso mais freqüente (e popular) que serpente, polo que é cobra mormente, dos dous sinónimos, aquele que surge como génerico nas denominaçons vernáculas pluriverbais dos diversos grupos de ofídios: cobra-capelo, cobra-cascavel, cobra-coral, cobra-de-água, cobra-marinha, cobra-real (= Lampropeltis spp.), etc. Por seu turno, em castelhano (de Espanha), os vocábulos cognados de cobra e de serpente, respet., culebra e serpiente, também funcionam como sinónimos na língua popular, mas, na língua formal, tende a reservar-se culebra para ofídios de tamanho modesto, nom venenosos e, em geral, autóctones (ibéricos ou europeus), tanto mais que, no castelhano especializado, culebra designa em particular os ofídios da família Colubridae e doutras famílias estreitamente relacionadas (a forma culebra está próxima do étimo latino coluber > Colubridae). Por isso, em castelhano, as denominaçons vernáculas pluriverbais dos diversos grupos de ofídios (sobretodo, se nom pertencem à família Colubrídeos e afins) integram, em geral, o vocábulo genérico serpiente, e nom culebra: sepiente cascavel, serpiente de coral, serpiente marina, serpiente real, etc.
Apesar de no galego espontáneo contemporáneo se registarem, junto com cobra, as variantes geográficas cóbrega, croba e quiobra (e o castelhanismo substitutório *culebra), e, junto com serpente, também a variante popular serpe, nom há motivos de peso para, no galego formal, no padrom lexical galego, nom adotarmos o mesmo esquema designativo que em lusitano e em brasileiro, para o que, evidentemente, podem invocar-se os argumentos de idiomaticidade, coerência sistémica, economia comunicativa e vantagem sociolingüística (Garrido, 2022: cap. 2.2 [variaçons geográfica e de freqüência de uso sem padronizaçom] e 2.5 [estagnaçom e suplência castelhanizante])3. Por conseguinte, o folheto de A Chave procede indevidamente, conforme o esquema designativo castelhano, ao atribuir o nome de cobras, com significaçom distintiva (< cast. culebras [registo especializado]), aos representantes da família Colubridae e de outras duas famílias estreitamente aparentadas, Dipsadidae e Lamprophiidae4, e ao recorrer ao vocábulo serpe(nte) para constituir (de modo exclusivo ou nom) as denominaçons das cobras-marinhas, das cobras-cascavel e das cobras-mocassim:
Familia: Colubrídeos (Colubridae): cobras, cobras voadoras, cobras de auga, cobras raiadas, cobras tigre africanas, caninana, bicudas, rateiras (ou cobras rateiras)
Familia: Lamprofídeos (Lamprophiidae): cobras, cobras lobo, cobregóns [...]
Familia: Dipsadídeos (Dipsadidae): falsas corais, cobras, cobras corredeiras, cobras espada

Esse alvitre, aliás, é contraditório com o uso de cobra que, em inequívoca harmonia com o luso-brasileiro, o folheto de A Chave fai em (pág. 14) cobras cegas (Typhlopidae; cast. serpientes ciegas, ingl. blind snakes) e cobras fío (Leptotyphlopidae; cast. serpientes hilo, ingl. thread snakes, slender blind snakes), e em (pág. 34) cobras tigre australianas (ingl. tiger snakes), cobras coral, cobras mariñas, cobra de Günther (Elapsoidea guntherii) e cobra de Sundevall (Elapsoidea sundevallii)6.
2.2. Uso aberrante e disfuncional de cobra, desconsideraçom de cobra-capelo e abuso de naja
Num gesto de extrema e lesiva incompetência, a RAG=ILG, no seu dicionário, em resposta à estagnaçom pós-medieval do léxico galego, designa com o neologismo castelhanizante *cobra os ofídios elapídeos (venenosos) que, estendendo as costelas, quando excitados, podem formar na regiom cervical, em maior ou menor grau, umha dilataçom elíptica ou arredondada, e que pertencem aos géneros Naja, Ophiophagus, Hemachatus, Pseudohaje e Aspidelaps. Obviamente, denominar em galego como cobras um grupo particular de cobras, de serpentes, representa umha soluçom completamente disfuncional, para além de patentear umha atitude servil, subsidiária, dos codificadores oficialistas a respeito do castelhano. Nas variedades socialmente estabilizadas do galego, lusitano e brasileiro, tais serpentes designam-se por cobras-capelo, dado que a dilataçom cervical referida, quando bem marcada, pode assimilar-se ao capelo ou capuz de um frade, e, de facto, a partir do vocábulo luso-brasileiro e, portanto, galego-português, cobra-capelo, mediante empréstimo, numerosas línguas europeias e extraeuropeias adquirírom as respetivas denominaçons vernáculas, as quais, em geral, mostram a eliminaçom do segundo elemento verbal da designaçom original (ex.: al. Kobra, cast. cobra, ingl. cobra). Em galego, a denominaçom luso-brasileira cobra-capelo revela-se soluçom perfeitamente idiomática e funcional, umha vez que tanto cobra como capelo som também palavras patrimoniais na língua autóctone da Galiza, polo que a estratégia idiomática, coerente, económica e sociolingüisticamente vantajosa, neste caso como na generalidade dos casos de estagnaçom (e suplência castelhanizante), consiste em adotarmos também em galego a correspondente soluçom luso-brasileira (Garrido, 2022: cap. 2.5).
Como procedem neste caso os autores do folheto de A Chave? Atreverám-se a levar a contrária à RAG=ILG neste caso tam claro? A resposta a esta última questom é si, mas nom: por um lado, para denotarem as cobras-capelo, nom priorizam a denominaçom castelhanizante e disfuncional *cobra, proposta pola RAG=ILG, mas, por outro, nom prescindem totalmente dela. Em qualquer caso, como veremos, o folheto de A Chave desconhece por completo a soluçom regeneradora cobra-capelo!
Com efeito, o folheto de A Chave prioriza o uso, no sentido de ‘cobra-capelo’, do termo naxa, de origem sánscrita e incorporado a partir do luso-brasileiro (naja). No entanto, tal nom evita que, de forma secundária, aquele também utilize o disfuncional *cobra ‘cobra-capelo’, tanto em referência a algumha espécie concreta de cobras-capelo —assim, a cobra-capelo-real, Ophiophagus hannah, é designada como *cobra-real (pág. 34)—, como em referência ao conjunto das cobras-capelo:

Apesar destes dous gestos de «rebeldia regeneradora» frente ao dicionário da RAG=ILG, ou seja, reduzir muito o uso do termo *cobra ‘cobra-capelo’ e generalizar o de naja (naxa) para denotar as cobras-capelo, nem por isso o folheto de A Chave consegue, infelizmente, oferecer-nos em galego soluçons designativas adequadas para esse grupo tam conspícuo de ofídios. Assim, em primeiro lugar, A Chave nom acerta a proporcionar umha denominaçom funcional de conjunto para todas as cobras-capelo: designa como naxas as cobras-capelo dos géneros Naja e Hemachatus, mas *cobras ‘cobras-capelo’ (*cobras-reais) as cobras-capelo do género Ophiophagus (infelizmente, o folheto nom oferece nome algum para as cobras-capelo dos géneros Pseudohaje e Aspidelaps); em segundo lugar, é irregular (ou, polo menos, inconveniente) designar todas as cobras-capelo como naxas, dado que a lógica taxonómica demanda que, num contexto especializado, naja seja a denominaçom vernácula de apenas aquelas cobras-capelo do género Naja (e nom das dos géneros Ophiophagus, Hemachatus, Pseudohaje e Aspidelaps); em terceiro lugar, se, de forma irregular, ou inconveniente, os autores de A Chave resolvêrom designar como najas as cobras-capelo do género Hemachatus7, entom, por que nom também as do género Ophiophagus (as quais, por sinal, dantes eram adscritas a Naja)?!; em quarto lugar, enquanto que, para Ophiophagus, umha hipotética denominaçom naxa-real, embora irregular ou inconveniente, teria sido coerente com a lógica designativa de A Chave, já a denominaçom aí proposta *cobra-real (pág. 34) é completamente defeituosa: defeituosa porque denotar a cobra-capelo-real, Ophiophagus hannah, como simples cobra nom é suficientemente expressivo (cf. al. Königskobra, cast. cobra real, ingl. king cobra, termos em que Kobra e cobra significam ‘cobra-capelo’!), e porque as cobras-reais (ou cobras-rei), em galego correto, devem ser os colubrídeos americanos do género Lampropeltis (cf. ingl. kingsnakes, al. Königsnattern, cast. serpientes reales), serpentes constritoras nom venenosas, de cores chamativas e que se alimentam de outras cobras (v., p. ex., Burnie, 2002: 388; Bruce, McGhee e Vogt, 2007: 69)8.
2.3. Indevido uso de cobregón em detrimento de cobra-rateira (ou sinónimos)
Para denotar o colubroide Malpolon monspessulanus (família Lamprofiídeos), a maior das cobras existentes na Galiza e em Portugal, a soluçom galega convergente com o galego-português lusitano, perfeitamente idiomática em galego, é cobra-rateira (v., p. ex., Ferrand de Almeida et al., 2001). Apesar disso, o folheto de A Chave resolveu secundarizar tal termo em benefício de cobregón («Malpolon monspessulanus: cobregón // sin. cobra rateira» [pág. 40]), de acordo com o seguinte raciocínio:
Que apareza cobra rateira como sinónimo e non como preferente para Malpolon monspessulanus é por causa de que esta mesma denominación é usada para nomear outro grupo de cobras asiáticas da familia Colubridae. Concretamente, para as cobras do xénero Ptyas (13 especies recoñecidas na actualidade) e as do xénero Coelognathus (7 especies recoñecidas na actualidade). Os nomes de cada unha das serpes destoutra familia fórmanse a partir do nome xenérico ratsnake en inglés, Rattenschlange en alemán ou tamén cobra rateira en portugués (e adoptado facilmente en galego). Darlle preferencia ao nome cobregón para as especies do xénero Malpolon da familia Lamprophiidae, e a cobra rateira para as especies dos xéneros Ptyas e Coelognathus da familia Colubridae diferénciaas máis claramente. (A Chave, 2020: 7)
No entanto, tal arrazoado apresenta alguns pontos fracos e invalidantes. Em primeiro lugar, nom é aceitável recorrer, numha lista-padrom de nomes de espécies, a um dialetalismo, e cóbrega/cobregom é-o claramente. A correspondente variante geográfica galega supradialetal, comum com os padrons lexicais lusitano e brasileiro, é cobra (de facto, o próprio folheto de A Chave utiliza de forma constante cobra, e nom cóbrega, para denotar as cobras), polo que cobrom9 seria o seu aumentativo.
Em segundo lugar, dado que a denominaçom galego-portuguesa cobra-rateira se refere a umha espécie de serpente autóctone, que vive na Galiza e em Portugal, a sua aplicaçom a Malpolon monspessulanus deveria ter prioridade sobre a sua aplicaçom a outras espécies exóticas, o que poderia respeitar-se mediante o decalque das denominaçons ratsnake, inglesa, e Rattenschlange, alemá, como cobra-das-ratazanas ou cobra-ratazaneira10, decalques galego-portugueses, de facto, mais precisos do que cobra-rateira11. Em qualquer caso, se se julgasse indispensável decalcar em galego-português ratsnake e Rattenschlange como cobra-rateira, também caberia a hipótese de se recorrer em galego a algum sinónimo vernáculo de cobra-rateira já utilizado em Portugal para denotar a Malpolon monspessulanus, como cobra-de-colchete.
Em resumo, umha vez que estamos conscientes de que a forma popular cobregom se reveste de caráter dialetal, de que a denominaçom galego-portuguesa cobra-rateira se refere a umha espécie de serpente autóctone, que vive na Galiza e em Portugal, e que, portanto, a sua aplicaçom a Malpolon monspessulanus deve ter prioridade sobre a sua aplicaçom a outras espécies exóticas, e de que as cobras exóticas designadas em inglês por ratsnake e em alemám por Rattenschlange podem receber em galego-português, mediante decalque preciso, umha denominaçom do tipo cobra-das-ratazanas ou cobra-ratazaneira, fica claro que o alvitre designativo aqui adotado por A Chave, o de secundarizar em galego cobra-rateira para Malpolon monspessulanus e priorizar cobregón (com desconsideraçom de cobra-de-colchete), nom se revela adequado.
3. Conclusons
Devastadora tem sido a degradaçom sofrida polo léxico galego desde o século xvi até aos nossos dias, e devastadora é a inoperáncia da resposta dada a tal degradaçom polos agentes codificadores isolacionistas, autorizados polo poder político e, por isso, largamente hegemónicos desde há quarenta anos. Um e outro efeitos degradativos ficam bem refletidos no pequeno setor designativo focalizado neste artigo: freqüente usurpaçom na fala espontánea hodierna de cobra por *culebra (substituiçom castelhanizante); incorporaçom ao dicionário da RAG=ILG das variantes geográficas cobra (comum aos padrons lexicais lusitano e brasileiro) e cóbrega com igual peso normativo (variaçom geográfica sem padronizaçom); incorporaçom ao dicionário da RAG=ILG da variante serpe, própria da língua popular e ausente dos padrons lexicais lusitano e brasileiro, com maior peso normativo do que a variante formal, pan-galaicófona, serpente (variaçom diafásica sem padronizaçom); incorporaçom ao dicionário da RAG=ILG das formas populares becha e bicha como perfeitamente sinónimas de cobra, sem qualquer indicaçom de registo (variaçom diafásica sem padronizaçom); incorporaçom ao dicionário da RAG=ILG do disfuncional castelhanismo suplente *cobra com o sentido de ‘cobra-capelo’ (estagnaçom e suplência castelhanizante); incorporaçom ao dicionário da RAG=ILG do disfuncional castelhanismo suplente *rata com o sentido de ‘ratazana’ (estagnaçom e suplência castelhanizante).
Perante esta fenomenologia de intensa degradaçom lexical, popular e institucional, o projeto terminológico de A Chave reage com ánimo regenerador e, portanto, com certo desapego ao programa isolacionista-castelhanista do oficialismo e com percetível pendor reintegracionista. No entanto, como a rutura com o mundo oficialista nom pretende ser completa, e como o compromisso reintegracionista, entom, nom pode ser profundo, a coordenaçom lexical galego-portuguesa e a resultante regeneraçom lexical ficam, em notável medida, frustradas: generaliza-se o uso de cobra, mas, ocasionalmente, surge o dialetalismo cóbrega (sob a forma cobregón); usa-se cobra com o valor denotativo e pragmático galego-português, mas nesse uso também se insinuam valores castelhanizantes (restriçom induzida polo uso excessivo de serpente; usos paralelos ao cast. especializado culebra); usa-se serpente, mas em concorrência com a forma popular serpe; ainda que tenda a evitar-se o disfuncional castelhanismo suplente *cobra ‘cobra-capelo’ (admitido pola RAG=ILG!), o seu uso aberrante nom desaparece por completo, e para o evitar, em vez de se recorrer ao neologismo luso-brasileiro de constituiçom galego-portuguesa cobra-capelo, plenamente idiomático e funcional em galego, recorre-se ao vocábulo de origem sánscrita naja, insuficiente para denotar todas as cobras-capelo; para denotar em galego a espécie Malpolon monspessulanus, posterga-se indevidamente, enfim, o termo cobra-rateira, idiomático em galego e padronizado em Portugal, em benefício do dialetalismo cobregom.
De resto, usos léxico-semánticos como os presentes neste documento do projeto A Chave, que explicitamente reclama para si o emprego de um «galego de qualidade», suscitam umha interessante questom: até que ponto pode ser possível o uso de um léxico galego de verdadeira qualidade, plenamente regenerado, por parte de pessoas ou coletivos que (ainda) nom assumírom um completo compromisso reintegracionista, e que, portanto, (ainda) nom estám intimamente, convivencialmente, familiarizados com as variedades meridionais, socialmente estabilizadas, do galego?

2 A propósito, no folheto em foco de A Chave surgem mal adaptadas em galego as denominaçons paracientíficas correspondentes às famílias Typhlopidae e Leptotyphlopidae (pág. 14), nas quais, naturalmente, a seqüência original -ph- há de tornar-se em -f- nos nomes paracientíficos galegos (typhlós significa ‘cego’ em grego, de modo que o formante tifl(o)- consitui eruditismos na nossa língua: tiflografia, tiflologia, etc.). Portanto, as formas corretas som, respetivamente, Tiflopídeos e Leptotiflopídeos, e nom *Tiplopídeos e *Leptotiplopídeos, como consta do folheto de A Chave.
3 Na redaçom do folheto de A Chave, e na cunhagem aí efetuada de algumhas denominaçons vernáculas (eruditas) de espécies ou grupos de espécies, junto com serpente, também se utiliza a forma popular serpe, que nom deveria surgir em usos formais e especializados como os deste documento: «Os nomes de cada unha das serpes destoutra familia [...].» (pág. 7); «No caso de dúas serpes africanas que teñen esta cor [...].» (pág. 10); «cascabeis (ou serpes cascabel)» (pág. 14); «mocasíns (ou serpes mocasín)» (pág. 14), etc.
4 Em bom galego-português, como equivalente do uso especializado do cast. culebra, podem utilizar-se os termos colubrídeo (< família Colubridae) e/ou colubroide (< superfamília Colubroidea).
5 A denominaçom paracientífica galega bem formada a partir da científica Lamprophiidae nom é *Lamprofídeos, como indevidamente consta no folheto de A Chave, mas Lamprofiídeos, pois em Lamprophiidae o i do sufixo nomenclatural -idae é precedido por um i. O mesmo se aplica, p. ex., a *Quelonídeos (pág. 13), que deveria surgir como Queloniídeos (< Cheloniidae).
6 Para estas duas últimas espécies, em conjunto, devia ter-se proposto a denominaçom cobras-de-jarreteira-africanas (< al. Afrikanische Strumpfbandottern; ingl. venomous garter snakes, African garter snakes), polo que as denominaçons específicas também poderiam ter surgido como cobra-(de-jarreteira-)de-Sundevall e cobra-(de-jarreteira-)de-Günther.
7 De facto, a denominaçom vernácula preferente proposta no folheto de A Chave para Hemachatus haemachatus, naxa cuspideira (pág. 34), é disfuncional porque, para além do Hemachatus haemachatus, designada em bom galego-português cobra-(capelo-)cuspideira-de-colar ou cobra-(capelo-)cuspideira-sul-africana, há várias outras espécies de cobras-capelo-cuspideiras (si se revela funcional a denominaçom secundária proposta no folheto, naxa cuspideira de colar).
8 E fazemos esta afirmaçom conscientes de que o uso errado de *cobra-real, no sentido de ‘cobra-capelo-real’, está muito estendido em textos escritos em lusitano e em brasileiro, e mesmo é registado em importantes dicionários da língua portuguesa.
9 Curiosamente, os dicionários de língua portuguesa da Academia das Ciências de Lisboa e da Porto Editora nom registam para cobrão o significado de ‘cobra de grande tamanho’, mas si o de ‘cobra-macho’, e o segundo também o de ‘cobra pequena, cobrelo’ (caso similar ao de feirom, que, na Galiza e em Portugal, costuma significar tanto ‘feira de grande tamanho’ como ‘feira de pequeno tamanho’).
10 O adjetivo ratazaneiro -a ‘comedor de ratazanas’, formado em paralelo a rateiro -a, é, de facto, neologismo em galego-português, a julgarmos pola sua ausência dos principais dicionários da língua. No entanto, o dicionário da Porto Editora já inclui derivados de ratazana como o verbo ratazanar e o adjetivo ratazanado.
11 Com efeito, o vocábulo inglês rat (de ratsnake) e o vocábulo alemám Ratte (de Rattenschlange) significam, propriamente, ‘ratazana’, enquanto que o adjetivo galego-português rateiro -a, aplicado a um animal, significa que tal espécie se alimenta normalmente de ratos, se bem que esse ratos, se usado em sentido lato, além de murídeos de pequeno tamanho (ratos propriamente ditos, principalmente do género Mus), também poderá incluir roedores miomorfos de tamanho médio-grande, como as ratazanas (de géneros como Rattus). Neste contexto, salientemos que ao galego cabalmente regenerado deve incorporar-se, de harmonia com o lusitano, o neologismo ratazana, complementar de rato/rata (no galego espontáneo atual, e mesmo no dicionário da RAG=ILG, por subordinaçom ao castelhano, a palavra rata designa aberrantemente as ratazanas, determinando-se assim, de passagem, umha sensível lacuna designativa, pois, desse modo, nom há palavra galega patrimonial para designar os ratos-fêmea, nem para nos referirmos em galego à rat(inh)a Minnie [v. Garrido, 2022: 42–45]).
